Full Circle Design

Full Circle Design

♻️ Your old home still has something to say

At The Wattle Road, we believe the best furniture tells a story and sometimes, that story begins long before we arrive.

Full Circle Design is our way of helping you bring the soul of your old home into your new one. If you’re planning a knockdown and rebuild, we’ll help you salvage timber worth saving and turn it into something unforgettable.

Here’s how it works:

🪵 1. You knock down your house

Whether you’re renovating or starting from scratch, demolition usually means beautiful old timber ends up in landfill. Subfloor, rafters, joists, beams - all gone.

🔨 2. We help you rescue that timber

Instead of letting it go to waste, we’ll help you identify and preserve key hardwood worth saving, especially Australian hardwoods like Blackbutt, Tallowwood, Ironbark, or Spotted Gum.

🪚 3. We give it a second life

Back in our workshop, we clean it, de-nail it, mill it, and shape it into custom furniture for your new space. Each of the items you're likely to buy anyway - dining table, bench seat, bedsides, coffee table.

❤️ 4. You keep the soul

What once held up your walls now holds your morning coffee. Your new furniture is full of grain, character, and memory. It has a story that never left, it just changed form.

Why it matters

Australia sends over 1.3 million tonnes of timber to landfill each year — equivalent to the weight of over 630,000 average cars, or enough to fill 130,000 large removalist trucks. That's nearly 25 times the weight of the Sydney Harbour Bridge annually, or about twice its weight every month.

That includes timber from homes, just like yours, full of life and potential.

Full Circle Design helps stop that waste — and instead, turns it into meaningful furniture that holds memory, not just things.

Thoughtful by Design

Sustainable furniture design is at the heart of what we do. It’s not just about reducing waste or ticking a box for eco-consciousness—it’s about choosing to create with care. From where our materials come from to how they’re crafted and how long they’ll last, every decision matters.

That’s why we work with reclaimed timber. Each beam, board, or rafter saved from landfill becomes a piece with soul. A second life. A story that continues—etched into a dining table, a desk, a place to gather.

By designing for longevity and honouring the materials we use, we’re creating something more meaningful than furniture. We’re creating legacy—with less impact on the planet and more impact in your home.

Real Story. Real Impact.

We’re currently working with a family who has inspired this idea. We worked with their builders during the knockdown, we salvaged the timber from their old home, stored it, de-nailed it and have already crafted:

  • A chopping board

  • Front door handles

  • A mud room seat

  • A dining table

And what’s still to come:
Coffee table, a bed, outdoor furniture, and possibly even a pool fence. Every piece made with timber that once supported their past and now shapes their future.

Why Full Circle Design is worth it:

  • Sustainable. Less waste. Fewer trees cut down.

  • Meaningful. Furniture with real story and soul.

  • Cost-effective. You’ve already paid for the timber—we just bring it back to life.

  • One-of-a-kind. No one else will ever have what you have.
