Every now and then a project reminds us exactly why The Wattle Road exists.
Tim and Leah’s knockdown–rebuild in Como, NSW was one of those projects.

Before their old home came down, we walked through it together - listening to stories, tracing memories, and marking the timber that had quietly held their life. Joists, beams, framing… the kind of material most people send straight to landfill.

Instead, we rescued it. More than 4 tonnes.

And we turned it into something they’ll live with every single day.

From Their Old Home to Their New One

Over the past 12 months we’ve transformed their salvaged Como timber into:

• A chopping board that now sits at the heart of their daily cooking

• Front door handles that welcome them home with history

• A mud seat built for the chaos and beauty of family life

• A dining table that will host birthdays, milestones, and everyday mess

• And there is more planned...a coffee table, side tables, a bed, outdoor table

Every piece starts with the same question:
How can we honour where this timber came from - and where it’s going next?
